Poisonous, Harmful and Suspicious, by Giselle Beiguelman, investigates memories of forbidden and stigmatized plants, told by forgotten women in the history of art and science. The narrative combines plants associated with the ancestral practices of Afro-indigenous women, fictional botanical illustrations created with AI and videos highlighting species linked to the demonization of women (such as the "forbidden fruit", carnivorous plants considered to be "man-eaters", mushrooms called "witches' plants", mandrakes, belladonna and cannabis). The exhibition is completed with seven fictional portraits of artist-scientists, also generated with AI, who merge their images with these plants and aesthetics, presenting them at the age at which they died.
